English Services

We have two services, one on Saturday night at 8:00 pm, comprising about 220 to 250 worshippers, and one on Sunday morning at 8:45 am, comprising about 250 to 300 people. The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion is served on the first Saturday/Sunday of each month. Worshippers come forward to receive the bread and cup, and spend as much time as they require before the Lord’s Table in front of the stage.

We encourage you to come in at least 15 minutes before the service begins to pray and meditate quietly. If you greet and talk to people, please do so in a low tone, but do be quiet at least five minutes before the service begins.

We have a creche to which you can bring your children who are 4 years and below. However, you and your children are welcome to be in the main sanctuary, in which case, do be seated and refrain from allowing your child to walk around. If your child starts to cry loudly, do bring him/her out to calm down before bringing him/her back into the sanctuary.

Our order of service is provided for in the bulletin. Prayers, songs, announcements, Scripture reading, and the sermon outline are projected on the screen.

After the service, we usually adjourn to the concourse to have a bite with tea or coffee that you can help yourself to. The concourse is a spacious place with tables and chairs where you can sit, and get to know people.

All worshippers are encouraged to attend one of the 37 church Cell Groups so as to be involved in the life of the church and to get to know fellow worshippers. From time to time, a Membership and Baptism class is conducted for those who would like to become members of our Canning Garden Methodist Church. Ask your Cell Group leader to sign you up.
